A garage floor built for real life on the Gulf Coast
Your garage takes more abuse than any room in the house: hot tires, dripping oil, lawn equipment, humidity that never quits and salt air that gets into everything. Hardshell Concrete Coatings installs a professional polyurea base coat and a polyaspartic top coat with decorative flake that bonds to properly prepared concrete and stays put. It is the coating system many people mean when they search for an “epoxy garage floor,” only tougher, faster to install and UV-stable so it will not turn yellow.
How our garage floor coating system works
- Diamond grinding. We grind the slab to open the pores of the concrete and remove the weak top layer so the coating can bond mechanically, not just sit on top.
- Crack and spall repair. Cracks, pitting and divots are filled so they do not telegraph through the finish.
- Polyurea base coat. A flexible, high-strength base coat penetrates the prepared surface.
- Full flake broadcast. Vinyl flakes in the color blend you choose are broadcast to refusal for texture and a showroom look.
- Polyaspartic top coat. A clear, UV-stable top coat locks everything in and creates an easy-to-clean, chemical-resistant surface.
Why homeowners choose Hardshell over epoxy
Traditional epoxy can take several days to install, yellows in sunlight and is prone to hot-tire pickup and peeling in humid climates. Our polyurea/polyaspartic system is up to four times stronger than epoxy, cures quickly, and is backed by our limited lifetime warranty. Most garage floors are completed in a single day, so you can get back to using your garage quickly.
