We arrive in the morning, diamond-grind and repair the concrete, apply a polyurea base coat, broadcast your flake color, apply a clear polyaspartic top coat and walk the finished floor with you. You can usually walk on it within a few hours.
Before install day
After you approve your written quote and choose a color, we schedule your install date and confirm it with you ahead of time. We will let you know what needs to be moved and answer any questions. Our goal is that you always know what is happening next.
Morning: preparation
- Protect the area. We protect walls, doors and nearby surfaces.
- Diamond grinding. Commercial grinders with dust collection open up the concrete so the coating can bond.
- Repairs. Cracks, pits and spalls are filled and ground smooth.
- Cleaning. The floor is vacuumed so it is completely clean.
Midday: coating
- Polyurea base coat. Rolled on in the base color that complements your flake.
- Flake broadcast. Vinyl flakes are broadcast across the whole floor while the base coat is wet.
- Scrape and vacuum. Excess flake is removed so the surface is uniform.
Afternoon: top coat and walkthrough
A clear, UV-stable polyaspartic top coat seals everything in and gives the floor its sheen and stain resistance. Before we leave, we walk the floor with you, explain cure times and care, and answer any questions.
When can I use the floor?
Light foot traffic is usually fine within a few hours. We will give you specific times for furniture and vehicles based on the weather that day; vehicles typically return within 24 to 48 hours.
